Thin EileenTHIN, Eileen Dorothy (Fernay) - (1946 - 2017) - It is with great sadness that our family shares the news that on February 7, 2017 Eileen passed at our home after a difficult battle with cancer.

Eileen was the beloved wife of John, and loving mother to Kendra (Perry), Chris (Lorna), Cameron and Jordan.

Dear sister to David (deceased) and dear sister in law to Margaret, Mary, Ben, David and Heather. Eileen was a loving grandmother to Chloe, Erika, Madison and Alexis, and will be sadly missed by her nieces and nephews.

Eileen was passionately involved with the E.L. Crossley Marching Band for more than thirty years, long after her children graduated from high school.

She impacted the lives of so many students who participated in the band, not only as a chaperone and leader, but also as a mentor and extended “mother”. Eileen received great joy from her involvement and was energized by the passion of the kids.

Eileen was a Matron of Prospect Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star and served as organist for several chapters in the area.

Our family wishes to extend our deepest thanks to the doctors and nurses at the Walker Family Cancer Centre. We would particularly like to acknowledge the caring and compassionate support provided by Colleen O’Grundy, RN. In lieu of flowers, our family respectfully requests donations to be made in her name to the Walker Family Cancer Centre.

Our family will receive visitors at Pleasantview Funeral Home, Fonthill on Sunday, February 12th from 2 - 4pm and 6 - 8pm, with the celebration of life on Monday, February 13th at 1:30 pm.
