HARPER, Jill Marie – Passed away at the Niagara Falls General Hospital on Sunday February 6, 2017 in her 58th year after a courageous battle with cancer.

She touched the hearts and minds of many people especially those to whom she had a close working relationship in the Food and Beverage Industry in NOTL.

When not working, she had a passion for adventure and raced on sailboats her entire life having inspired many others to follow in her footsteps. She leaves her beloved Shark “Rampant” to her nephews whom she adored to carry on the sailing legacy begun by her father who was a long time member of the Niagara-on-the-Lake Sailing Club.

She also loved to travel. She independently explored Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Spain, Portugal, and hiked the Mountains of the Moon in Uganda hiring locals upon arrival to guide her on her adventures.

Jill is survived by her dear mother Beverley Harper, brothers Bruce Harper (Roberta), John Harper (Darlene) and is predeceased by father Duncan and brother Craig Harper. Loving Aunt to her nephews Jacob, Calvin, Levi, Malcolm Harper and niece Teja Ricalis.

A true friend & confidante to many who fondly remember the lively parties and bar crawls. Jill will be remembered as larger than life truly living up to her infamous phrase, “Go big or go home!”

A Celebration of Jill's Life will be held in the afternoon on Saturday, May 6th at the Niagara-on-the-Lake Sailing Club.
