Smith HazelSMITH, Hazel (Schofield) – Passed away peacefully, at Oakwood Park Lodge in Niagara Falls on Monday, March 6, 2017 in her 99th year.

Beloved wife of the late Tom Smith (1969).

Cherished mother of Bernice Hopkins (late Robert “Bob”). Loving grandmother of Brenda and Doug Wetmore, Brent and Chris Hopkins and Kim and Ray Collins. Proud great-grandmother of Tabitha Collins, Ryan Wetmore, Joshua Collins and Samantha, Spencer and Shelby Hopkins.

Predeceased by her parents Newton and Nellie Schofield and her brothers and sisters.

Hazel worked for several years as a Switchboard Operator at the Welland Hospital. She enjoyed curling and was an avid golfer and former member of Lookout Point Golf Club.

Respecting her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family interment will be held. Friends are invited to share in a time of memory and light refreshments at the H.L. Cudney Funeral Home, 241 West Main Street, Welland on Friday, March 10th from 4 – 6 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Hazel may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
