JONES, Anna (nee Mergl) - (December 11, 1927 - March 6, 2017) -

Passed away peacefully at the Welland Hospital in the early morning of Sunday March 6, 2017, at the age of 89.

Predeceased by her beloved husband of 39 years, William John Jones (1987), parents Mary (1993) and Anton (1983) Mergl and sister Mary Doddridge (2016).

Anna is survived by her devoted daughter Brenda Jones, brother Joe (Sylvia) Mergl and sister Bev (Jim) Marcov.

Anna enjoyed her life as a homemaker; as a golfer, climbing the hills of Lookout Point Golf Club; as an employee at Sears for 20 years. She lived most of her life in Fonthill and the last 26 years in St. Catharines.

"Mom, you were a feisty character who inspired me, supported me, and challenged me, but most of all loved me dearly. Thanks for being my Mother --- Love Brenda"

In keeping with Anne's wishes cremation has taken place. A private interment will take place in the future at Holy Cross Cemetery.

As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to Hospice Niagara, Alzheimer Society of Canada-Research or the Sunnybrook Foundation-Brian Sciences/Alzheimer Research. Arrangements entrusted with Pedlar funeral home, Fonthill.
