Irvine MaudIRVINE, Maud Anne (nee Hardman) - Passed away peacefully in the early morning of Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Rapelje Lodge in her 97th year.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Thomas (1981).

Dear and loving mother of Nan Smith (Don) and Dave (Arlene). Cherished grandmother of Michael Smith (Pat), Becky Peters (Jeff), Kim Irvine-Albano (Bruno) , Lori Michaud (Dave). Great grandmother of Emily and Odin Albano, Mason Michaud, Kate and Mike Peters.

Predeceased also by her brothers John and Jim Hardman.

Raised in Toronto, Maud was a supervisor of the "Bomb Broads" where she inspected 105 mm. shells made by NATO at the United Steel. She went on to sell real estate and book keeping. Maud kept the books for the Barclay Hotel, Rose Villa Hotel, Casa De Tora, all in Welland, and the Westchester Restaurant and Tavern in Niagara Falls.

In her later years, Maud was a very proud member of the Senior Citizens Drama Club. She used to say she was a pretty good egg even though she was a little cracked.

The family would like to extent their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Rapelje Lodge for their care and compassion throughout Maud's time there.

Friends will be received on Thursday, March 9th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the JAMES L. PEDLAR FUNERAL HOME, 1292 Pelham Street, Fonthill.

The funeral service to honour Maud's life will take place on Friday, March 10th at St. David's Anglican Church, 369 Thorold Road, Welland at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.

As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society or to St. David's Anglican Church, Welland.
