SMITH, Verda Steele - Passed away peaceful at home on Friday, March 10th, 2017, at the age of 83.

She was born Verda Steele in Brownsburg, QC. Verda was proceeded in death by her husband of 59 years George (2011) and daughter Sharon Burns (2016). She is survived by her children Don (Ruth), (Mike Burns), Ken (Irene), Brian (Marjory), Greg and Cindy Marr.

A loving grandmother of Nick, Ian, Neil, Mike, Megan, Andrew, Devon, Andrea, Eric, Bobby, and 4 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Florence, Ivy, Grace, Betty, Don, and Jenny who have been a source of joy and support in her life.

Verda was a frequent volunteer and an active member of the St. David's community. With her ever present and infectious smile she was a spark of life to those who knew her. She left behind, by her simple and gentle example, a lesson on how to live a good and gracious life. She will be sadly missed by her family and all who knew her.

Cremation has taken place. A private family graveside service will be held at St. David's United Church Cemetery in the spring.

Those who wish, may make a memorial donation to the Canadian Liver Foundation.
