Elit ArtELIT, Arthur 'Art' - Art passed away peacefully on April 1, 2017 at Portal Village in his 87th year.

Born in Westpreuseen, Poland on July 27, 1930, he was the son of the late Adolf and Hulda (Maretzke) Elit and brother of the late Margaret Elit Pekrul.

He will be missed by his loving wife Wanda (nee Pekrul), children Laurie and David (Brigitte Plante) and grandchildren Vincent, Jeremie, Madeleine and Gabriel. Also survived by his nieces and nephews.

Art owned Art’s Automotive Service Ltd for many years and then worked at Young’s Automotive.

The family would like to thank Portal Village for their care and compassion.

Mr. Elit’s family will receive friends at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 179 Clarence Street, Port Colborne on Tuesday, April 4th from 1-2pm. The Funeral Service will follow in the chapel at 2pm with Pastor Michael Meleg officiating. Interment will follow in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery.

If so desired, memorial donations may be made to the Parkinson Society or a charity of choice.
