Voynovich NellieVOYNOVICH, Nellie – It is with great sadness but thanksgiving for a life well lived that the family of Nellie Voynovich announces her passing at Garden City Manor on Monday, April 3, 2017 in her 98th year.

Beloved wife of the late Paul Voynovich (1986).

Cherished mother of Marilyn Lawrence (Gary) and the late Peter Voynovich (Connie). Loving grandmother of Paula Lawrence, Pete Voynovich (Chantal), Matt Voynovich, Josh Voynovich (Bridget) and great-grandmother of Adele, Mabel, Maude, Arlo and Parker.

Dear sister of Jean Hajdu (late Jim). Predeceased by her parents Peter and Sophie Hodowan, brother Paul Hodowan (Bertha) and sister Mary Kmety.

Nellie was a member St. David’s Anglican Church and a former member of the Stop 19 Fire Hall Ladies Auxiliary. She was an extraordinary stay-at-home wife and mother who devoted her life to her family. She was so very proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren that were the apples of her eye.

Respecting Nellie's wishes, funeral services are private for family. A heartfelt thank you to the staff at Garden City Manor for their care and compassion. Arrangements entrusted with Cudney funeral home, Welland.

As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
