NEFF, David 'Arnold' - Passed away at Maple Park Lodge in Fort Erie on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at the age 93 years.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Dorothy ‘Margaret’ Barker (1976), and second wife Mary Louise Bremner (2016).
Loving father of Patricia (Larry) Philp and Catherine (Paul) Dayboll. He will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren Taryn (John) Campbell, Becky (Robert) Oehler , Nathan Philp (Jordan Duguay), Joshua Dayboll (Madison Lambie) and one great granddaughter Morgan Rachel Campbell. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his father William Lloyd Neff (1970), mother Floy Violet Beam (1947), father-in-law James Barker (1982), mother-in-law Rachel (Halsall) Barker (1963), siblings William ‘Gordon’ “Smiley” Neff, Dorothy Blanche Neff, Miriam Augusta Mathers, Carmen Floy Neff, Ada Camilla Neff and Francis Lloyd George Neff.
Arnold lived in Port Colborne most of his life. He was an aeromechanic during WWII, later working with Heighton’s and Fraser Ship Repair, from where he retired. Arnold enjoyed curling, bowling, lawn bowling, carpentry, animals and nature. He was a perfectionist and had a very dry sense of humour, and loved and fiercely protected his family. Arnold adored his grandchildren and great-granddaughter and they adored him.
Family and friends will be received at DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOME, 135 Clarence Street, Port Colborne on Friday, April 7th from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. A funeral service will follow in the Davidson Chapel at 1:30 p.m., with interment in Overholt Cemetery.
