Serre DougSERRE, Doug - Passed away peacefully on Tuesday April 4, 2017 at St. Catharines General Hospital at the age of 61.

He was the loving husband of Denyse (neé Hourigan), the devoted father of Dan and Tim (Galina), the caring son of Patrick and the late Marlene Serre and the brother of Mike (Marilyn) and Pat (Linda) Serre.

Doug was a longtime member of Canada Border Services in Niagara. He will be remembered as an accomplished athlete with a dry sense of humour, but most importantly as a dedicated and proud father to his two boys.

Doug was a kind and gentle soul who quietly put the needs of others before himself.  He was loyal, genuine and down to earth. His subtle sense of humour brightened our days.

The family would like to thank his caregivers at Brain Injury Services of Hamilton for their commitment and all the other healthcare professionals who cared for Doug with such compassion throughout the years.

Cremation has taken place. Friends are invited to call at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main Street, Niagara Falls, Ontario for visiting Sunday 1 to 3 pm. Remembrances of his life will be shared by his family and friends at 3 pm.

In memory of Doug, donations to the Brain Injury Services of Hamilton would be appreciated by his family.
