Burbidge AlBURBIDGE, Alan David - (1942 - 2017) - Alan David Burbidge died peacefully at home on Friday April 7, 2017 just two weeks short of his 75th birthday.

Born in Birmingham, England to John and Alice Burbidge, he was also a loved son-in-law to Louise and Burdge Gunby (Canada). Al is predeceased by sisters Margery (Bob), Joan,Vera (Ted), and brother Ron (Barb). Survived by brother Ken (England), sisters-in-law Barbara (St. Catharines) and Christine (England). Special ‘brother’ to Ena (Mike) and Rita.

Will be missed always by his wife Jean, daughter Melanie (Mike) and son Mark (Louise) who were with him for his final journey, allowing him to die at home where he wanted to be.

Many fond and fun memories to share among his 7 grandchildren, Emily, MacKenzie, Ben, Zach, Nick Michele and Rachel, many nieces and nephews as well as 2 god-children and so many friends. He loved you all.

Al was a longtime employee of Bell Canada and spent his own time as the family ‘fixer’ of things and of people. His sharpies kept him and us organized. He was a craftsman who caned chairs, built furniture, bird houses, garden beds in which he grew garlic, and he could repair anything that was broken.

Golf, his golf buddies and working as a starter at Pinleand Greens were all a big part of his retirement years. His was a life well lived and we were all privileged to share that life.

A million thanks to the CCAC team, especially Laurie, Sherry and to Dr. Dooler with a special thanks to Robert, all who made his last days at home possible. We could not have done it without you all.

A celebration of his life will take place on a future date. Arrangements entrusted with Pedlar funeral home, Fonthill.
