Chirico DomenicoCHIRICO, Domenico Francesco – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Domenico Chirico of St. Catharines, with his family by his side, on Thursday, January 11, 2018, in his 78th year.

Domenico was predeceased by his parents Giovanni and Caterina Chirico and his brother Giuseppe.

He will be dearly missed by his sister and brother-in-law Annina & Franco Cotroneo, brother and sister-in-law Angelo and Luisa Chirico and sister-in-law Halina Chirico.

Dear Zio Mimmo was a proud uncle to Anna Maria, Joe (Angie), Cathy (Elio), Sara (Aaron), John, Daniel (Shelby), Marisa (Paul), Daniele, and Massimo, and great uncle to seven great nieces and nephew.

After immigrating to Canada from Italy, Domenico worked at General Motors. He will be fondly remembered for his love of Italian culture and tradition.

Friends will be received at the Bocchinfuso funeral home, 2 Regent Street, Thorold, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. & 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 14th with vigil prayers held at 3:00 p.m.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 21 Queen Street South, Thorold, on Monday, January 15th at 11:00 a.m. Rite of committal will take place at Victoria Lawn Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the medical staff at Niagara Health – St. Catharines site for all the care & compassion provided to Domenico.

If desired, memorial donations to the Walker Family Cancer Centre or to the charity of your choice, would be appreciated by the family.
