For years, we have posted regional death notices as a free public service, while taking on the complete cost of publishing ourselves. We can no longer do so.

Without participating Funeral Centres, Cemeteries, Monument Suppliers and Local Businesses advertising with us, we can no longer run this website at a financial deficit.

We have received dozens of emails by folks upset at the discontinuation of our daily updates, and we apologize.  We also love this site, and considered it a great service to the public by accumulating and listing all Regional Obituaries in one spot.

Also, we appreciate the privacy to not contact the families of friends for funeral arrangements who may be shortly passing, as well as, friends not having to frequently check all local funeral centre websites for service information.

Sloetjes JohannaSLOETJES, Johanna Gertruida - To our deep sorrow, it has pleased the Lord to take Johanna Gertruida Sloetjes, on Friday, June 8th, 2018, to be with Him in eternity and reunited with her husband Gerrit Jan (1961).

Loving mother of Bill Sloetjes, Erna & Laurent Mermuys, Elizabeth & Bill Ebert.

Loving Oma to Steven, Leanne, Bianca, Ken, Marcelle, Gerian, Annette, Benjamin and Jesse.  Blessed also with 20 great grandchildren.

Dear sister and sister-in-law to Diny Vanderwerff, Wilma Cardol (Tony), Erna Sloetjes (Ben) and Annie Idema.  Predeceased by Derk Sloetjes (Janet), Herman Sloetjes (Margie), Ann & Jake Van Dellan, Gerrie & Jack deJonge, George & Marlene Sloetjes, Tjeerd Vanderwerff, Pieter Idema, Bill Sloetjes (Karen) and John Sloetjes (Irene).

Visitation will be at Providence Christian Reformed Church, 4845 King St., Beamsville, on Tuesday, June 12th beginning at 10:00 a.m.  The Funeral Service will be at 11:00a.m.  Interment at Vineland Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Fairhavens Christian Retirement Home in Beamsville.
