We Regret to Announce That We Have Had to Discontinue
NiagaraObituaries.com
.

For years, we have posted regional death notices as a free public service, while taking on the complete cost of publishing ourselves. We can no longer do so.

Without participating Funeral Centres, Cemeteries, Monument Suppliers and Local Businesses advertising with us, we can no longer run this website at a financial deficit.

We have received dozens of emails by folks upset at the discontinuation of our daily updates, and we apologize.  We also love this site, and considered it a great service to the public by accumulating and listing all Regional Obituaries in one spot.

Also, we appreciate the privacy to not contact the families of friends for funeral arrangements who may be shortly passing, as well as, friends not having to frequently check all local funeral centre websites for service information.

Sponsors are welcome to participate and support NiagaraObituaries.com by advertising (i.e., local funeral centres, cemeteries, monument suppliers or local businesses, ...we would also include your Banners and Direct Links to your websites) – please contact us !

Participating Funeral Centres will be prominently Featured; within their Region, and within the Obituary Notices, including Links redirecting viewers to your Websites.

We are continuing to publish notices to DurhamObituraies.com …  and also for now, TorontoObituaries.com and HaltonObituaries.com

Thank you for visiting our website.

We plan to have the 9 other Regional Websites back on-line soon!

Sincerely,

NiagaraObituaries.com

Smith JohnSMITH, John Alexander - (May 18, 1927 - June 9, 2018) -

It is with a broken heart that I, Lois, announce the passing of my best friend, soulmate and husband John. Your presence will be gone, but you will live on forever in my heart.

John passed away peacefully at the St. Catharines General Hospital in his 92nd year while holding my hand.

Also loved and remembered by his son Jim, grandson Paul (Sandra), granddaughters Lisa, Laura and Jennifer. Lois' children Michael (Nancy), Susan (Gordon), grandchildren Janice, Matthew, Patrick, Lauren, Sarah, Alexander, Braden and Hunter, and great-grandchildren Damon, Jordan, Ian, Jocelyn and Hudson.

He is predeceased by his son John, brothers Bill and David, and Lois's sons Robert and Dennis.

He will be missed by his in-laws Sadie Smith and Val Smith, Bob and Joanne Wills and Ed and Veneta Wills. John will also be missed by many nieces and nephews.

John retired from Fraser Paper Mill in Thorold after 37 years of service and enjoyed his retirement years. We travelled extensively and balanced life between our homes in Florida and Port Severn. He was a very talented painter and woodworker and has left us all with beautiful memorable keepsakes of his talents.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Community Care of St. Catharines or the Salvation Army which are charities John supported.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Butler funeral home, St. Catharines on June 14th at 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

"John you are now at peace. No more pain or suffering. Your faith carried you through to the end."
