For years, we have posted regional death notices as a free public service, while taking on the complete cost of publishing ourselves. We can no longer do so.

Without participating Funeral Centres, Cemeteries, Monument Suppliers and Local Businesses advertising with us, we can no longer run this website at a financial deficit.

We have received dozens of emails by folks upset at the discontinuation of our daily updates, and we apologize.  We also love this site, and considered it a great service to the public by accumulating and listing all Regional Obituaries in one spot.

Also, we appreciate the privacy to not contact the families of friends for funeral arrangements who may be shortly passing, as well as, friends not having to frequently check all local funeral centre websites for service information.

Parente MariaPARENTE, Maria - It is with sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our loving and caring Mom on Sunday, June 10, 2018 at her home.

Loving wife of the late Antonio Parente.

Beloved mother of Antonietta (Tony) Battista, Adela (Ron) Beroud, and Michael (Stephanie) Parente. Loving Nonna of Jacob Michael Anthony Wright and Arlo Shay Parente.

Dear sister of John (late Lily) Ligotti, Frances (Umberto) Butera, Pasquale (Antonietta) Ligotti, Dora (Camillo) Cimino, Veneranda (Severio) Mussari, Gino (Pina) Ligotti, Ada (Frank) Buonocore and sister-in-law of Assunta (late Evangelista) Della Ventura and Maria Pia (Tony) Battaglia.

Sadly missed by her step grandchildren, step great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her parents Santo and Maria Ligotti.

Maria was admired for her strength and strong will as she battled diabetes for the majority of her life. She cared deeply and had a strong love for her children and grandchildren.

Family and friends will be received at Pleasantview Funeral Home, 2000 Merrittville Hwy., Fonthill on Wednesday, June 13th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with vigil prayers being celebrated at 3:30 p.m.  Liturgy of the Word will be celebrated in the funeral home chapel on Thursday at 11 a.m. Rite of Committal at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

Memorial donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
