Rogez LucyROGEZ, Lucy - It is with sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lucy Rogez, age 88, on Sunday, October 29, 2017, at the Douglas Memorial Hospital in Fort Erie, ON.

Lucy was born on January 13, 1929 in Glace Bay, Cape Breton. She moved to Halifax  at age 16 where she worked at the Victoria General Hospital, and then later moved to St Catharines at 18, where she was a long time employee at Loblaws.

She will be remembered by friends and family for her loving smile, sense of humour, her big heart, her love of sports (baseball, figure skating and hockey), travel (her favourite places being Las Vegas and Hawaii), the casino and lottery tickets.

She will be forever missed by her husband of 37 years, William, her daughters Janna, Meaghan (Kevin) and Danielle, and her brother Wayne (Liz).

Also missed by her many extended family members, close friends and her two pups Charlotte and Savannah.


EZEWSKI, Roman 'Ronnie' - Passed away suddenly on Sunday October 29th, 2017 in his 71st year (08/23/1947) at Haldimand War Memorial Hospital.

Roman Ezewski enjoyed many years of farming in the Smithville area before becoming a steel worker; the profession from which he retired from. He loved his family and cherished time spent with his family. He was a skilled wood worker and loved fishing and boating, learning the latest farming techniques, airplanes, his love of life and laughter was apparent as he was always cracking jokes and looking forward to new life experiences.

He was greatly cherished and will be missed by his partner Dianne McCollum, they spent 43 wonderful years together. Beloved father of Tim and Peggy Ezewski, Jordan & Rhance Robinson and Evan Ezewski & Emma Goodrich.


ATKINSON, John Gordon - Passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 28th, 2017 in his 65th year, surrounded by his loving family at the Hotel Dieu Shaver in the Palliative Care Unit.

Beloved husband of Anne, loving father of Jonathan and David. Son of the late Gordon and Ruth Atkinson and son-in-law of the late James and Mary Thomas. Brother of George, Judy, Jane, Susan and his late sister Cindy. Brother-in-law of Kathleen (Alan) and Cecelia ( Bryan) and nephew Gregory. John is also survived by his aunts, uncles and cousins.

John was a graduate of the University of Guelph. John was an expert on the Holstein breed of cattle and went from being a Holstein Breeder to working for the Ministry of Food and Rural Affairs in Toronto, and then Guelph.

Born in Niagara Falls, NY, on September 2, 1930, Roland was the older of two children to Roland E. and Florence (Zygand) Grandin. He was the devoted husband of June S. (Neil) Grandin of Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada for 65 years.

Roland and June began their life together in Niagara Falls, NY, lived in Lakeland and West Palm Beach, Florida, before eventually settling in Alburtis, Pennsylvania. They retired to Wolfeboro, NH, in 1993, where he continued to enjoy gardening, woodworking, and spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren; avidly photographing and videotaping family gatherings.
