Honey RichardHONEY, Richard - Passed away peacefully on September 27, 2016 at Cobourg, Ontario.

Loving father to David (Grabriela) of Etobicoke and Christopher (Karla) of Vancouver.

Proud and doting Grandpa of Natasha and Emma, Dr. C. Michael, Alexandra and Maximillian.

Richard was predeceased by his loving wife Elizabeth in 2014.

Richard was born in Guernsey, U.K. on the vernal equinox of 1931 and was the youngest of five children. He was a bright and curious child and was often seen jumping from rock to rock on the rugged shores of Guernsey. Once he was caught by his elder sister Joyce climbing up the middle of two buildings on to their roof!

Richard did very well at school and went up to Oxford University on scholarship to read Biology at Trinity College. After graduating with a MA (Oxon) he travelled to Barbados where he taught Biology at Harrison College for 10 years and supplemented his income with competitive bridge.

It was in Barbados where Richard met Betty, a beautiful CBC journalist. They married and raised David and Chris in Barbados. The young family moved to Montreal in 1962 where Richard taught at Town of Mount Royal High School and then to Port Hope in 1967 where Richard taught science at Trinity College School for over 20 years. He became House Master for Bickle House and coached the tennis team to several ISAA championships (usually when the Bermudians played).

He enjoyed skiing, tennis, bridge and visiting Barbados as often as they could.

A service will be held at St. John's Anglican Church, 33 Pine St. North in Port Hope at 11 am on Monday October 3rd (with reception to follow). A private inurnment will follow where Richard will finally rest with his beloved Betty.

If desired, donations to the Alzheimer Society are greatly appreciated. Arrangements entrusted with Allison funeral home, Port Hope.
