RISK, Gabriella Stephani 'Gay' - Loving wife and mother, amazing grandmother, and great friend, Gabriella Risk passed away on July 13, 2017 in Toronto.

Born in Toronto to Anastasia (Geracimo) and Nicholas Speal, Gay grew up in Kingston with her three younger siblings Deena (Albrecht), Maria and George. She was a good student and a protective older sister who also worked at the family restaurant.

In 1943, she graduated from Queen's with a BCom and embarked on a career that took her to Ottawa, New York and eventually, Montreal. There, she met and married her husband, Bud (Allan) Risk, and raised their daughter, Stephani.  Ever supportive of them both, she was proud of their accomplishments.

Friends would always find her up for a competitive game of bridge, a round of golf with the Whiff & Putts, or a friendly curling bonspiel. Gay will be remembered lovingly for her energy, tenacity and sense of humour -- she spoke her mind and did things her way right until the end!

She will be missed by her daughter and son-in-law, Stephani and David Kingsmill, her grandchildren James and Elizabeth, her nieces, nephews and cousins, and her many friends in Kingston, Montreal and Cobourg.

Thanks to Jovieh, as well as Dr. Rubenzahl, Leslie and the staff at Humber River Hospital for caring for Mum in her final weeks.

Visitation will be held at MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King Street East, Cobourg on Wednesday, July 19 at 1pm, followed by a service at 2pm and a reception. Interment in Montreal will follow at a later date.

In memory of Gay, please consider a donation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, or a charity of your choice.
