We Regret to Announce That We Have Had to Discontinue NorthumberlandObituaries.com.

For years, we have posted regional death notices as a free public service, while taking on the complete cost of publishing ourselves. We can no longer do so.

Without participating Funeral Centres, Cemeteries, Monument Suppliers and Local Businesses advertising with us, we can no longer run this website at a financial deficit.

We have received dozens of emails by folks upset at the discontinuation of our daily updates, and we apologize.  We also love this site, and considered it a great service to the public by accumulating and listing all Regional Obituaries in one spot.

Also, we appreciate the privacy to not contact the families of friends for funeral arrangements who may be shortly passing, as well as, friends not having to frequently check all local funeral centre websites for service information.

Sponsors are welcome to participate and support NorthumberlandObituaries.com by advertising (i.e., local funeral centres, cemeteries, monument suppliers or local businesses, ...we would also include your Banners and Direct Links to your websites) – please contact us !

Participating Funeral Centres will be prominently Featured; within their Region, and within the Obituary Notices, including Links redirecting viewers to your Websites.

We are continuing to publish notices to DurhamObituraies.com …  and also for now, TorontoObituaries.com and HaltonObituaries.com

Thank you for visiting our website.

We plan to have the 9 other Regional Websites back on-line soon!

Leggette BillLEGGETTE, William Edward 'Bill - It is with great sadness that the family of Bill bring news of his passing on Sunday, June 3, 2018, at his happy place: the barn.

Bill was the loving husband of Marie (nee Parry) Leggette for 57 years; father to Joe, Mark, Michele, Heather and Scott; father-in-law to Rana, Mary Lynne, Paul, Rob and Lisa; grandfather to Cody, Kailey, Rory, Brooke, Cole, Kelsey, Lane, Emily, Hannah, Bailey, Josée, Phoebe, Carter and Quinn.

Bill is survived by his brother Bob (Ida) and his sister Bonnie (Gord), and is pre-deceased by his brother Dave (late Mary). Bill is also mourned by extended family Art and Shelley, Aimee, Billy and Barbie.

Bill retired in 2003 to make time for his increasingly busy life: spending time with his 14 grandchildren; playing guitar and singing every Wednesday afternoon with the “girls”, and any chance he got; swimming twice a week at the Jack Burger Recreation Centre; volunteering with the Kendal Lions Club; breaking and training horses; attending rodeos; and building everything from rec rooms to houses.

Bill travelled to the bottom of the Grand Canyon in April, got his most recent gold medal in swimming on May 24th, volunteered at the Lion’s breakfast Sunday morning, then went to the barn Sunday afternoon to work on his most recent carpentry project, where he passed away.

Thank you to the firefighters of the Garden Hill Station and police officers who responded to the 911 call.

The family invites Bill’s relatives and friends to a Celebration of Life to be held this Friday, June 8, from 2 pm to 5 pm at the Port Hope Lions Recreation Centre, 29 Thomas Street, Port Hope, Ontario.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Kendal Lions Club or a charity of your choice.
