CLEMENTS, Lloyd John - (1927 – 2017) – Lloyd passed away at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on September 30, 2017.

He will be greatly missed by his wife Marion (nee Carter), his children Nancy Prystai (Robert) of Belleville and Gail Clements of London, and his grandchildren Kathleen Kerns (Eddie) of Kenora and Ryan Prystai (Leticia) of Toronto.

Former member of the Stratford, Toronto Islington and London West Rotary Clubs. Past Master of Oakridge Masonic Lodge, London West District. Lloyd's passion, after his retirement in 1991, was curling, golf, and weekends at their cottage in the Madawaska Valley area.

Sudbury BillSUDBURY, William Grant - Passed away September 29th, 2017 at Brampton Civic Hospital. Bill was born April 14th, 1961, in Peterborough to Bob and Betty Sudbury.

Bill was the brother of Brian and Robert, Husband to Heather and Father to Connor.

Bill developed many friendships while serving with the Canadian Military, his work in the security field and his volunteer service with Big Brothers, in Brampton.

Bill's family, friends and comrades-in-arms will miss him greatly as he has joined the ranks of the "White Battalion."

The Sisters of the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph in Canada, (Hamilton) are saddened to announce the death of Sister Marion Downer at St. Joseph’s Residence Hamilton, Ontario on Thursday, September 28, 2017 in her 60th year as a Sister of St. Joseph.

She was the daughter of the late Gilbert Downer and Ita Tobin. She was predeceased by her brother Paul and her sister Jeanette. She will be remembered by cousins in Peterborough and the United States and the members of her religious family, the Sisters of St. Joseph.

Sister was born and raised in Peterborough and came to Hamilton to teach. It was here that she answered the call to enter religious life. Sister Marion was a dedicated teacher and a gifted musician and possessed a wry sense of humour. She taught in the Hamilton area and she shared her musical gift as a private music teacher and a church organist.


NOBLE, Sandra L. (Stahurski) – Daughter Lisa Noble (Tom Gibson) and her two children: Ryan Noble (Kim) and Bailey Noble, are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Mom/Nana on Wednesday, September 27th, 2017, after a long and very brave battle with cancer at the age of 67.

Sandra is also the dearly loved “Grama” of Bobbi Riley and her two children: Alisha and Michaela. She was predeceased by her daughter Carol (Sept. 19, 2017), parents Edward and Gina Stahurski, and three siblings.

Sandra is survived by her wonderful and loving sister; Donna Dwinnell (Wayne) of BC. She will be dearly missed by many nieces and nephews, cousins, a very helpful and good friend; Lisa Cleary, and a wonderful life-long childhood friend; Carolyn Attridge.

Stan is joining his daughter Robin and leaving behind his son Leonard and daughter Tammy Laroche (Stephen Bowen), as well as their mother Grace (nee Lamothe).

Survived by her ever grateful children, John (Rosalie Spargo), Rosemary (John Redfern) and Richard (Janet Heffernan) as she was instrumental in our lives as a special mother, role model and friend.

Grandchildren Adam, Kyle, Carla (Andy Boutwell) and Ryan (Kendra Hobbs) will miss their wonderful Grammy, who was their number one cheerleader and original golf instructor. We all felt lucky that she passed on her love of golf and her proficiency of the game to two generations.

Bill served as a prominent member of the community as community co-ordinator for the Peterborough Special Olympics for over 25 years, previously working for Quaker Oats and serving in the Royal Canadian Air Force.
