Heine IsabelleHEINE, Isabelle Marie - (May 8, 1933 - September 2, 2016) -

Daughter of Percy and Elizabeth Pellerin. Born on May 8, 1933 raised and educated in Nova Scotia until 1955.

Graduated from St. Francis Xavier University in 1954 with a 4 year bachelors degree, completed in only 3 years. She was designated by the Halifax Infirmary as a Professional Clinical Dietician in 1955 following her internship there. Worked at the University of Saskatchewan hospital in Saskatoon and then, after her marriage to Dr. Henry Xavier Heine, moved to Meadow Lake Saskatchewan.

After the birth of John Alexander, they moved to Peterborough, Ontario in 1959 where Henry became a member of the staff at the Medical Centre, practicing family medicine for 31 years. Their other two children, Monica Marie and Eric Xavier were born in Peterborough.

Isabelle was a member of the University Women's Club, Catholic Womens' League, St. Alphonsus Liguori Parish, Birthright, Coalition for Life and St Vincent de Paul. She volunteered on Boards of community organizations in Peterborough. She returned to school and completed an Honours Degree in psychology at Trent University while raising her young family. She and Henry sponsored a family from Vietnam and followed them throughout their lives in Canada.

She is survived by children John (Danielle), Monica (Gary) and Eric (Donna). Predeceased by Henry in 1991, brothers Russell and Basil, nephews Jean André and Jacques. Survived by seven grandchildren, Gabrielle, Alexandra, Thomas, Natasha, Bridget, Leah and William, who have all brought her much joy.

The family would like to thank the Community Care Access Centre staff, Fr. Jerry, Fr. Ray and Fr. Ken, Dr. Richard and staff, the Palliative Care Unit at PRHC, Dr. Natalie Whiting, Dr. Lucie Blouin, the staff at Princess Gardens and her many friends who supported her throughout this journey.

Donations may be made to the Vision Fund for the restoration of St Alphonsus Church.

Visitation will be held at Duffus funeral home, Peterborough, Ontario, on Tuesday, September 6 from 7-9 PM. Vigil prayers at 8:15 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be held at St. Alphonsus Church, 1066 Western Ave., Peterborough, on Wednesday September 7 at 10 a.m.
