BARNS, George Melville 'Mel' – (P. Eng., Retired G.E. Employee) -

Passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Sunday, February 5, 2017 in his 81st year.

Beloved husband of Margaret Barns (nee Gillespie) for 54 years. Dear brother of the late Lee Barns. Brother-in-law of Joyce Barns. Uncle to Heather (Mike), Sherrie (Terry) and great uncle to Kiera and Erica.

At Mel’s request there will be no visitation or service. A private interment has taken place a Little Lake Cemetery.

Mel’s family would like to send a thank you to the staff of the PRHC “Palliative Care Unit” for their kindness and compassion. Donations may be made to Hospice Peterborough or the PRHC Foundation.
