Leslie WayneLESLIE, Wayne Arthur – On February 14, 2017 after a valiant and courageous battle fought with dignity, grace and humour, Wayne passed away peacefully at his home in Havelock surrounded by the love of family and dear friends in his 62nd year.

Formerly of Scarborough, and retired from the City of Toronto, he leaves behind his heart-broken wife Carol (Howey) and adored step-son Tyler Smith (Melody).

Also left to mourn his passing are his loving sister Linda Knoll (Gary), and their children Michael Knoll and Heather (Ben) Knoll-Porter and their son Oliver. Dearly loved brother-in-law and uncle of Jane and Terry Bonham and their children Jeff Bonham and Erin (Luke) Carlisle and their son Max.

Wayne will be deeply missed by his Mother and Father-in-law Ginny and Werner Wais of Niagara Falls. Predeceased by his parents Peter and Betty Leslie.

Heartfelt gratitude to Wayne’s “A-Team” who made it possible for him to stay at home, Greg Stokker, Valerie Terryberry and Michael Smith. The family would also like to thank Dr. Melissa Holowaty, Dr. R. Juergens and the Juravinski Cancer Center, CCAC and the nurses and PSWs of St. Elizabeth who went above and beyond to make Wayne’s journey the best it could be. A special thanks to Kate Bell, RN and Judi Casteels... you are truly shining stars.

In accordance with Wayne’s wishes, cremation has taken place.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice in Wayne’s memory.

A celebration of Wayne’s life will be held March 11th from 2 - 4pm at the Royal Canadian Legion, 8 Ottawa Street, Havelock, Ontario. Arrangements entrusted with Brett funeral chapel, Havelock.
