McMurray GerryMcMURRAY, Deacon Thomas Gerald 'Gerry' - Called by his heavenly Father to join Him on Thursday, February 16th, 2017 in his 85th year.

Gerry has touched many lives during his life through his many ministries including a machinist at GE; an advisor at London Life, and in 1993 becoming a Deacon in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Peterborough serving the Parishes of St. Luke’s, Downeyville, Our Lady of the Assumption, Otonabee, St. Peter-In-Chains, Peterborough and St. Anne’s, Peterborough.

Gerry leaves behind his very loving and patient wife Barbara (nee Latchford), his children Robert “Bob”, Michael, Lawrence & Michelle (Hean), Peter and Lisa (Ward), Laura and Marty Oates, and Marlene; his grandchildren Desirae & Lars Lindstrom, Daniel and Christopher, Robert, Katelynn and Breann, Rita, Elizabeth, Joseph, Patrick and Sara as well as his great grandchildren Logan and Haleigh.

Survived by his sister Anne Emberly, his brother-in-law Laverne Armitage and his sisters-in-law Marlene Latchford and Teresa O’Brien. Predeceased by his sister Rose Mary and his brother Paul. Son of the late Robert McMurray and Helena Courneyea.

Deacon Gerry will Lie In State in the Cathedral of St. Peter-In-Chains, Peterborough on Tuesday, February 21st, from the Rite of Reception at 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. (Prayers for the Office of the Dead 7:00 p.m.)

Funeral Mass in the Cathedral of St. Peter-In-Chains on Wednesday, February 22nd at 10:00 a.m. Interment St. Peter’s Cemetery. The McMurray family would like to invite all to Bishop Doyle Hall for a reception following the interment.

In memory of Deacon Gerry and in lieu of flowers, donations to Madonna House Combermere would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted with Highland Park funeral centre, Peterborough.
