Loving father of Wilma & Jim Dick, Donna & Deryl Yanch, David & Tracey Franks, and Wayne & Marianne Franks. Dad cherished and loved his time with his 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Son of the late Herman and Hazel Franks of Omemee. Dear brother of Evelyn (husband Russ Paxton) and the late Donald (surviving wife Lois), and much loved brother in law of Gladys (late Robert Fenwick) and the late Birdie (Bill Purcell), and Lenna (Nelson Lowes).John was a cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews and will be remembered by many other relatives and friends.

A ‘jack of all trades’ who could do anything, fix anything, and worked hard every day. Always kind and giving, John was always ready to lend a hand to others with their projects or simply a kind word of advice.

Visiting will be held at the ASHBURNHAM FUNERAL HOME, 840 Armour Road, Peterborough on Monday, March 13 from 10-11 a.m. with a funeral service to follow in the chapel at 11 a.m. Interment at Emily Cemetery, Omemee.

If desired, in memory of Dad, donations can be made to The Kidney Foundation, or The Canadian Diabetes Foundation.

We would like to send deep appreciation to Drs. Vanhoof, Meade and Cheung, as well as the Nurses of 4B for their care. Our sincere thanks to Amanda of the PRHC Palliative Care Unit and the staff and nurses of Jackson Creek Retirement Home, who were always friendly and compassionate during Dad’s three years there.

We love you Dad and will miss you so much.
