Prentice AvisPRENTICE, Avis Alison (Millar) – Passed away peacefully, with her family at her side, on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at Peterborough Regional Health Centre. Avis of Cavan, formerly of Toronto and Scotland, in her 74th year.

Beloved wife of Bill Prentice for 49 years. Dear mother of Gail Pearce (Kirk) and William (Katherine). Loving grandmother of Aiden, Madeline, Malcolm, Ewan and Angus.

Avis was born in Kirkland, Scotland. Avis and Bill were married in March of 1968 and then moved to Canada a few weeks later. They settled in Toronto for four years, then moved to Cavan when they decided to start a family.

Avis stayed at home until Gail and William were older, then helped support Bill start and continue his new business. She also worked and eventually retired as an Educational Assistant from the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board.

Avis had a lust for life. In the summertime her great joys were spending time with her grandchildren, walking and gardening. While in the winter, she enjoyed traveling the world. She was loved and will be remembered by many friends and family.

Cremation entrusted to ASHBURNHAM FUNERAL HOME, Peterborough. A celebration of Avis’s life will be held at a later date. Arrangements will be posted when they are available.

Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
