Gardezi Dr HassonGARDEZI, Dr. Hasson Nawaz  - Professor Emeritus, Algoma University - Passed away April 19, 2017 at the age of 84 in Peterborough, following a brief illness.

Graduate of Washington State University, he was an internationally recognized author and editor of many books and articles on social and political developments in Pakistan and Asia.

Son of Syed Muhammed Nawaz and Saeedah Gardezi of Multan, Pakistan. He is survived by his wife Rosalie and his children Tariq, Fauzia, Shahid, Shella and Jaffer, as well as his brother Dr. Ali Raza and his sister Qudsia.

He will be dearly missed by his wife, family, colleagues, students and friends.

His funeral was held at Highland Park Cemetery, Peterborough. A memorial service will follow at a later date and location, to be announced.

Memorial donations may be made to The Council of Canadians and The Malala Fund.
