Hotchkiss RuthHOTCHKISS, Ruth Louise (Moss) – Passed away at Peterborough Regional Health Centre, Palliative Care on April 21, 2017 in her 67th year.

Ruth Louise Moss was born in Toronto on June 3, 1950. She grew up in Pickering, Ontario and was an Ontario Scholar at Pickering High School and a Public Relations graduate of Carleton University in Ottawa. She later earned her MBA in Non-Profit Organizations at the University of San Francisco.

A gifted writer and spirited traveler and foodie, she touched many with her charm and likeability, her genuine interest in others and devotion to her friends. Ruth especially loved her years in Toronto operating her own public relations firm for musicians and artists of all kinds.

She was stricken with cancer in 2010, but despite her extremely challenging diagnosis defied the medical professionals' expectations and lived an active life while tenaciously pursuing all manner of treatments and experimental therapies over a 7-year period. Positive, cheerful and determined to the end, she departed just as she had lived.

Ruth is survived by her mother Dorothy Moss and brother David Moss and his wife Rita and their children Natalija and Henry. She is predeceased by her father John and brother John Jr. 

Private arrangements entrusted to COMSTOCK-KAYE LIFE CELEBRATION CENTRE, 356 Rubidge Street, Peterborough. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Soceity would be appreciated.
