For years, we have posted regional death notices as a free public service, while taking on the complete cost of publishing ourselves. We can no longer do so.

Without participating Funeral Centres, Cemeteries, Monument Suppliers and Local Businesses advertising with us, we can no longer run this website at a financial deficit.

We have received dozens of emails by folks upset at the discontinuation of our daily updates, and we apologize.  We also love this site, and considered it a great service to the public by accumulating and listing all Regional Obituaries in one spot.

Also, we appreciate the privacy to not contact the families of friends for funeral arrangements who may be shortly passing, as well as, friends not having to frequently check all local funeral centre websites for service information.

Patten RobertPATTEN, Robert Charles Patten  - Robert died Tuesday, February 6, 2018 in his 56th year.

He was predeceased by his parents Charles and Norma (Knapp) Patten and by his aunts, Nora Read, Marjorie Newlove, Betty Harvie and his uncle Douglas Knapp.


He is survived by Uncle David Harvie and cousins Alice Edgar, Jim Read, Margaret Moore (d. 2003), Dave Read, Connie Read, Steve Read, Tom Read, Jessica Rahuba, Linda Beyer, Terrence Newlove, and Laura Knapp.

Rob's happiest years were when he completed his degree in Economics as part of the 2009 class at Trent University.

Rob was a dialysis patient for over 20 years.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in his memory to The Kidney Foundation of Canada would be appreciated.

A sincere thank you is extended to the many medical and support staff who have helped Rob over the years: Becky at the Canadian Mental Health Association, Dr. Steele and Joy at the Dialysis Management Clinic, and the entire staff at the Dialysis Unit and other staff in D-1, nephrology and ICU, Peterborough Regional Health Centre.

Visitation will occur at 12:30 p.m. prior to a memorial service at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 12, 2018, at the Comstock-Kaye Life Celebration Centre.
