For years, we have posted regional death notices as a free public service, while taking on the complete cost of publishing ourselves. We can no longer do so.

Without participating Funeral Centres, Cemeteries, Monument Suppliers and Local Businesses advertising with us, we can no longer run this website at a financial deficit.

We have received dozens of emails by folks upset at the discontinuation of our daily updates, and we apologize.  We also love this site, and considered it a great service to the public by accumulating and listing all Regional Obituaries in one spot.

Also, we appreciate the privacy to not contact the families of friends for funeral arrangements who may be shortly passing, as well as, friends not having to frequently check all local funeral centre websites for service information.

Laviolette HughLAVIOLETTE, Hugh Alexander - (Retired after 47 years from Drug Trading Company, Member of the St. Alphonsus Knights of Columbus Council #11086, and 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Bishop Marrocco Assembly #882).

Peacefully with his family by his side at St. Joseph’s at Fleming on Sunday, May 13, 2018 in his 89th year. 

Beloved husband of almost 59 years to Barbara (nee Irwin). 

Loving father of Danny (Joanne), Lisa Brunello (Gino), and Michele Laviolette (Jeff Armstrong). 

Cherished grandfather of Joe Laviolette (Jess), Samantha McFarlane (Andrew), Dominic Brunello, Vincent Brunello, Monique Brunello and Ava Muir. 

Great grandfather of Wes, Noah, Jolena and Riley. 

Dear brother of Mary Joan Fanthorpe, the late John and the late Michael. 

Sadly missed by his nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE 2510 Bensfort Rd., Peterborough on Thursday from 6:00-9:00 PM.  Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 18, 2018 at 11:00 AM at ST. ALPHONSUS LIGUORI ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH 1066 Western Ave Peterborough.  Reception to follow in the Parish Hall.  Interment will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Virginia. 

In memory of Hugh, donations to hospice Peterborough or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
