Billen BillBILLEN, William Lewis 'Bill' - Of Douro Township, passed suddenly, but peacefully, at home in his 83rd year.

Cherished father to Lisle and Sharon Billen. Loving Grandfather of Tonille and Cody Leblanc. Devoted brother of Dorothy Chambers and the late Les Billen. Bill will be remembered by his many nieces, nephews, and loving friends.

Bill joins his beloved Betty in Heaven where they will be gardening, taking walks in nature and feeding all of the birds together once again.

After a short but courageous battle with cancer, Gerry has gone to meet Johnny her late husband of 39 years, who has been waiting patiently for her in the left hand corner of heaven for 18 years.

Gerry leaves behind her pride and joy. Son Greg and wife Leslie Gauthier, grandchildren Natalia and RJ, of New Hope, PA. Daughter Lynn Horton and grandson Dakota of Peterborough. Son Brad and wife Diane of Timmins.

 

MacInnes KeithMacINNES, Keith - (Retired Finance Professor at McMaster, Ryerson and York Universities and Chief Accountant at Brascan Ltd., CFA, CPA, PFS and graduate of Trent University) -

Passed away at his home in Kingston, Ontario on Monday, April 3, 2017 at the age of 63.

Keith was married to Lynne MacInnes nee Sheridan for 40 years and they had recently moved from Toronto to Kingston. His brothers Gord MacInnes and wife Yvonne and Al MacInnes and wife Betty reside in Peterborough where Keith was born. Keith’s sister Evelyn Haylock of Toronto has passed away.

Keith’s deceased parents were Earlim MacInnes and Jean nee Griffin of Woodville and in later years Peterborough.

Beloved husband of Carol (nee Morris). Loving father of Leslee Bax (Ken), Michael Berardi (Laurie), Anthony Berardi (Sarah). Dear grandfather of Nicholas (Kayla), Meaghan, Emily and Ella. Great grandfather of Beau.

Dear brother of Maria Nicoletti (Eugenio), Raffaelina Berardi (late Enzo) and Giuseppina (Raffaele). Dear brother-in-law of Carmine Garofalo (late Eva), Gail Foster (Dave), Lynn Braund and Dawn Marie Braund. Dear uncle of several nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his parents Domenico and Teresina Berardi, and sister Norina Benincasa (late Emilio).

Loving mom to Barbara Poile and Jeani Collingwood (Tom Lunn). Much loved grandma of Mindy and Craig Poile and Adam Collingwood. Proud great-grandma to Lily and Samantha.

 

Morris BeaMORRIS, Mary Beatrice Monro 'Bea' - WRCNS - (June 2, 1920 – April 2, 2017) -  Bea died peacefully at Sunnybrook Veterans Centre K wing in Toronto on Sunday April 2, 2017 in her 97th year.

Predeceased by her parents D. Eric M. Grier and Catherine A. Mackenzie, and her husband Alexander S. Morris (1998), she is survived by her children Shelagh E. Morris and husband John A. Cain of Paris, ON; Mary C. Morris of Squamish, B.C; and Iain A. Morris of St. Catharines, ON.

She is also survived by her sister Katharine N. Hooke (the late Harry G. Hooke) of Peterborough, ON, and her nieces Pamela N. Hooke of Toronto and K. Suzanne Hooke of Peterborough, and several Morris nieces and nephews in Canada and the U.K.

 

MASSENDER, Margaret - In her 85th year, Margaret Massender passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Sunday April 2nd, 2017.

Cherished daughter of the late John and Rebecca (Burke) Willimot.

Loving mother of Janet Massender of London and Joanne Baker and her husband Brian of Lakefield. Special grandmother of Tanya Roldao, Crystal Ruston, Jeffrey Oulds and Chantal Baker. She was a proud great grandmother of four.

 

Hambly RachelHAMBLY, Rachel Whitney Cadieux - (August 17, 1981 ~ April 1, 2017) -

Rachel was born in Oshawa and lived there until age 8 when her family moved to Sudbury.  Rachel lived there until age 12 when her family again moved, this time to Peterborough, which has been her home base since then.

Rachel definitely took her own path in life.  High school was not for her so she worked in various positions for a couple of years in her teens.  At age 17 she joined the Federal Youth Program, Katimavik, and lived in Cambridge, Trois Rivieres and Brandon, each for three months.  It was a great experience that was a touchstone for the rest of her life, and where she made several life-long friends.

 

Elfstrom JoyceELFSTROM, Joyce Lorna (née Ferguson) - Passed away peacefully, surrounded by the warmth of her family’s embrace and compassionate caregivers at PRHC, Saturday, April 1, 2017, in her 87th year.

Cherished wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, and dedicated community volunteer.

Predeceased by her beloved husband of 50 years, Douglas (d. 2000). Joyce brought light, humour, and wisdom to all she met. A vibrant, cheerful spirit, she loved singing, ice cream, and ballroom dancing, not necessarily in that order.

She will be remembered with deep, abiding love by daughters Nancy (Philip) Smith and Evelyn (Cris) Maksimovich. Her grandchildren Nathaniel (Christina Wallwork), Alana (Ray Johnson), Ethan, and Hannah will forever treasure their memories of Nana.

 

HORSFIELD, Jack - It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Jack Horsfield on the morning of Saturday, April 1st, 2017.

He leaves behind his loving wife Anne, children Gary, Jacqueline and Simon, as well as grandchildren Jodie, Alex, Gemma and Harry.
