Hawes MaryHAWES, Mary Sarah (nee Davey) - Passed away peacefully surrounded by family on September 11, 2016 at Nanaimo General Hospital, Nanaimo BC, six days shy of her 86th birthday.

Adored daughter of Albert & Winnifred Davey, sister to Russell (Keitha) & the late Norman (Hazel).

Devoted wife of Leonard Hawes (pre-deceased), married at Windemere House, Windemere ON, on New Years Day 1950.

Much loved mother to Randy (Charlotte), Sherry (Biagio) both of Orillia ON, Dan (Dor), Julia (John [pre-deceased]) both of Courtenay BC.

Devoted grandmother of 11 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and counting.

Mary was born in Toronto but spent most of her life in Orillia, with a short stint in Stoney Creek ON, later residing in Calgary AB, Mission BC and Vancouver Island BC.

In her youth she attended King Street Public School, Orillia District Collegiate and Smith's Business College.

She was a Bookkeeper by trade and occupied herself with many hobbies, her favourite being a quiet room with a nice cup of tea and a good book.

Mary was the rock foundation of the family and will be sorely missed.

As per Mary's wishes, there will not be a service. Cremation will take place with Interment at a later date in Orillia.
