Smith HaroldSMITH, Harold Murray  - Harold 'Murray' Smith, 96, formerly of Thornbury and Toronto, died September 8, 2016 at Grove Park Home in Barrie, ON.

Murray was predeceased by his loving wife Gail (nee Myles) of Thornbury.

He is survived by his five children, Cheryl Forshaw (Geoff), Bruce (Frances), Don (Susan), Mike (Deb), Kathy Green (Bruce) and also by his brother Bruce (Dolina), sister Thelma Line, sister-in-law Isabel and brother-in-law Milne Myles (Faye).

He is fondly remembered by nine grandchildren, one great-grandson and many nieces and nephews.

Murray was a Veteran of WWII (RCAF) and was a Teacher with the Toronto Board of Education.

He authored Canadian history book, "Footprints in Time" and in retirement expressed his love of music by entertaining on the piano and performing with the Georgian Sound Big Band.

Murray was active in the community as a member of the Thornbury-Clarksburg Rotary Club.

Funeral Services will be held at the Ferguson Funeral Home, Valley Chapel in Thornbury, on October 1st, at 1:30 p.m.
