Mighton EnidMIGHTON, Enid Marilyn Harris (nee Coombes) - Enid passed away peacefully at home on Monday April 17, 2017.

Enid was born January 8, 1935 on the Coombes family farm in Stirling, Ontario. She was the eldest in a family of seven children. The dairy farm was built by her father and run by hard work and love.

Enid attended Teachers'College in Peterborough and completed her bachelor's degree at the University of Toronto years later. She began her elementary teaching career at the age of 19 in a rural school near the farm. Enid was a Scarborough teacher for 35 years and retired in 1990.

She is survived by her beloved husband Harry; daughters Elizabeth McMaster (William) and Patricia and stepchildren Kim Robertson (Mike) and Davis Mighton.

Enid was loved dearly and will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Jacob, Taylor, Zoe, Emily, Katie, Mikayla and Harley.

She is predeceased by her brother Roger (Elizabeth) and sister Janice Hewton (Barry).

Family was so very dear to Enid. She held memories of reunions and gatherings close to her heart and will be remembered by sisters, Mavis James (Bill), Veva Curtis (Charlie), Sally Steele, Gwen Potts (Doug) and her many nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place. A service for Enid will be held at St. Andrew Anglican Church, 125 Wellington Street W., Alliston on Thursday May 4 at 11 am with reception immediately following at John Thomas Funeral Home, Alliston.

If desired, donations made to The Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Heart and Stroke, The Kidney Foundation or St. Andrew Anglican Church would be appreciated.
