MCCAULEY, Christopher Paul - Surrounded by family, Chris passed away peacefully at his home in Barrie, Ontario on August 9, 2017.
Chris is the beloved husband of Maria, dear son of Marilyn and the late Terry McCauley and cherished brother of Norm, Alicia, Mike (Karen), Cathy and Tim. Chris is also a much loved uncle of Matthew, Melissa, Jamie, Christen, Jordan, Taylor, Nicholas, Damon, Connor, Brandon, Carter, Ryley and proud great uncle to Amalia. Admired step father of Aaron and Luc.
Chris was born in Exeter Ontario on February 26, 1963 but spent his most formative years in Alliston, Ontario.
Chris actively pursued and achieved both athletic and academic excellence. His athletic career included playing hockey for the London Knights and Western Mustangs. He also played professional hockey in both Austria and England.
Chris completed degrees at the University of Western Ontario, McMaster University and Carleton University. As a Social Worker and a Policy Research Analyst, Chris made a significant difference in the lives of many.
Most recently, Chris was passionate and effective advocate for ALS research funding. His contributions will live on and move forward with the support of his family and many dear friends.
A man of spiritual faith, strength and intellectual curiosity; Chris lived life with passion, sensitivity, kindness and endless determination. He is missed greatly by family and friends alike. While God now has him in his keeping, we have him in our hearts forever.
Visitation will be at Drury Funeral Centre, Alliston on Sunday August 13th from 6-9 pm. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 190 King St. S. Alliston, on Monday August 14th, 2017 at 11 am. Interment will be at Adjala immediately following the mass. A reception and celebration of Chris's life will follow at the Gibson Centre, 63 Tupper St. W., Alliston
