For years, we have posted regional death notices as a free public service, while taking on the complete cost of publishing ourselves. We can no longer do so.

Without participating Funeral Centres, Cemeteries, Monument Suppliers and Local Businesses advertising with us, we can no longer run this website at a financial deficit.

We have received dozens of emails by folks upset at the discontinuation of our daily updates, and we apologize.  We also love this site, and considered it a great service to the public by accumulating and listing all Regional Obituaries in one spot.

Also, we appreciate the privacy to not contact the families of friends for funeral arrangements who may be shortly passing, as well as, friends not having to frequently check all local funeral centre websites for service information.

Surette AnnetteSURETTE, Annette - Peacefully at Hospice Simcoe with her family by her side on February 10, 2018 at the age of 81.

Wife of the late Richard Surette.

Loving and devoted mother of Pauline DeMaria and her husband Vince, Stephen Surette and his wife Lousia, and Michael Surette and his wife the late Lydia Cummings.

Sadly missed by her loving grandchildren Chayden and Maddy.

Survived by many brothers and sisters.

Annette was a life member of ANAF Barrie branch ladies auxiliary and St. Mary’s Parish C.W.L. for many years.

Guests will be received at Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, Barrie on Thursday February 15 from 7pm to 9pm. A funeral mass will be held the next day Friday, February 16, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 65 Amelia St., Barrie starting at 10am. A reception will follow in the parish hall. Following the reception, Interment will follow.

If desired, memorial donations may be made to Hospice Simcoe or the Canadian Cancer Society and are greatly appreciated.

The family would like to take this opportunity to thank and gratefully acknowledge the Bayshore Home Health nurses and Dr. Paul Howard for the excellent care given to Annette during this difficult time.
