For years, we have posted regional death notices as a free public service, while taking on the complete cost of publishing ourselves. We can no longer do so.

Without participating Funeral Centres, Cemeteries, Monument Suppliers and Local Businesses advertising with us, we can no longer run this website at a financial deficit.

We have received dozens of emails by folks upset at the discontinuation of our daily updates, and we apologize.  We also love this site, and considered it a great service to the public by accumulating and listing all Regional Obituaries in one spot.

Also, we appreciate the privacy to not contact the families of friends for funeral arrangements who may be shortly passing, as well as, friends not having to frequently check all local funeral centre websites for service information.

Deavitt JamesDEAVITT, James Gordon – Passed away at Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket, on Monday, May 14, 2018 in his 71st year.

Jim was the beloved husband of Gail.

Loving father of Gordon Deavitt (Tammy), Penny Lynn Deavitt (Rob), Nicole Fyfe, and the late Stacey Hill (Matt).

Cherished grandfather of Karley, Erica, Karsinn, Maddyson, Mason, and Abby.

Dear brother of Grace (Harold), John (Lidy), late Patsy (late Jim), Ruth (Jeff), Dale (late Jerry), and George (Wendy).

Jim will also be missed by his nieces and nephews.

A Legion service will be held on Wednesday, May 16, at 6:45pm with visitation to follow from 7-9pm at Reynolds Funeral Home, Bracebridge, ON where the funeral will be held on Thursday, May 17, at 10:00am. Interment in Bracebridge, ON with reception to follow at the Royal Canadian Legion, Bracebridge.

If desired, memorial contributions to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society greatly appreciated.
