RENNICK, Barbara Elizabeth (nee GOMERY) - Quite suddenly, the day before her 94th birthday, Barbara Rennick passed away at Oakville Trafalgar Hospital.
A beloved teacher and school principal for many years, Barbara was also the author of the Unicorn series of readers.
On retirement, she kept a busy social life playing bridge, teaching rug hooking, enjoying the Oakville symphony and musical theatre, and travelling the globe.
Barbara was predeceased by husband Ross (1980), daughter Mary Lou (2019) and sister Judith (2020).
She leaves behind her brother John (Pierrette) and sister Carol (Tony Kay) as well as many nieces and nephews.

RYAN, Desmond "Des" Patrick - It is with immeasurable sadness that we announce the loss of this life well lived.
Beloved father of Alison and loving partner to Patricia, he leaves behind his eldest daughter Diana, brother Ray and wife Molly, sister Rosemary and husband Bob and will now be reunited with his son, Kevin, in God's embrace.
His energy, affection and mentoring, will also be greatly missed by his many nieces, nephews and their children.
Born in Toronto, Des valued his Irish Catholic roots but in later years spent time with his partner Patty at her Presbyterian church in Florida.
A wonderful cook, he would bring people together with good food, good wine, and good conversation. In his youth he enjoyed hockey and rally car racing.

BOODRAM, Lincoln - Passed away on Tuesday, April 20, 2021.
He was a loving husband, son, brother, father, grandfather and brother-in-law to his family.

DUFFUS, Edwin George - It is with great sadness that the family of Edwin aka “LUKEY” announces his sudden passing on Tuesday April 20, 2021 at the age of 79 years old.
Edwin was a gentle soul, had a happy, easy going personality, always smiling and polite to anyone he had met.
Edwin will be lovingly remembered by his children Chris (Cherrise) and Sophia along with his six grandchildren Jordan, Nathan, Mikal, Alyssa, Olivia and Xavier.
Edwin is predeceased by his mother Alberta Pitter, his predeceased sister Carmen.

HERRLER, Betty - Betty passed away suddenly and peacefully, on April 20, 2021, at Granite Landing residence in Cambridge, ON.
She was 99 and very proud of her ability to live independently for her entire life.
She was born in Chatham and grew up on the family farm at Mitchell's Bay, near Chatham.
Betty was predeceased by her parents, Hilliard (Hilly) and Lorene Allen, and her husband, Norm Herrler.
She will be missed by her children, Allen, Anne, Garry, David and Brian, as well as their spouses and partners.
She also leaves her brother, Dr. Hugh Allen, plus 6 grandchildren, Derek, Heather, Andrea, Alison, Daniel and Justin, as well as great-grandchildren, Olivia, Julia, Jessica, Cole and Ben.

GIDYK, Dr. Darryl C. Gidyk - Passed away on Tuesday, April 20, 2021.
He leaves behind his mother and father, Walt and Marg Gidyk of Edmonton, Alberta, and his brother Allan Gidyk and his wife Suzy Haghighi.
Also left to mourn are Darryl’s wife Thea and their daughters Lily and Daisy-Valentine.
It comforts me to know that there are so many others out there thinking of and mourning this great man, who was a loving and devoted father, husband, son, brother, and friend.

BURRS, Mick - 1940 - 2021 It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mick Burrs, a renowned award-winning poet, known by his literary name Steven Michael Berzensky, on April 20, 2021.
Mick was the son of Shirley Levi Burrs and Albert Burrs, and brother and brother-in-law of Renee and Jack Donner.
Mick will be greatly missed by all of his friends across Canada in the literary world, and especially by those closest to him, Kent Bowman and Sharon Singer.
Los Angeles born, Mick Burrs was one of Canada's finest poets, winning both the 1983 Saskatchewan Poetry Award, and the 1998 Saskatchewan Book Award for Poetry.

MAHARAJ, Naived 'Nivi' - It is with heavy hearts that the family of Naived (Niv) Maharaj announce his unexpected passing on Monday, April 19, 2021 at the age of 35 years.
Niv was born on October 12, 1985 to Tara and Bhualdath (Bal) Maharaj in St. Joseph, Trinidad. Food was one of his many passions, and he worked in the culinary industry for 12 years before attending the Food Science and Technology program at the University of Trinidad and Tobago. Most recently, he worked in the manufacturing industry for three years in Canada.
Niv was preceded in death by his father, Bhualdath, and is survived by his mother, Tara, and his brother, Varma.

ABRAMOVICH, Albert (Alik) - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing on April 19, 2021 of Albert (Alik) Abramovich: a father, a son, a brother, a grandfather, an uncle and a friend.
Albert will be missed greatly by his Mother: Frida (Fanya), Daughter: Natalie, and sister: Tatiana (Tanya), and his grandchildren.
Many of you in the community know Albert as Alik Abramovich, the man who made your special occasions into a dream come true. He helped many in their celebrations, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, Weddings, Anniversaries, Birthdays, and so much more. This was his passion. From the food on your plate, to the music in your ears, to the smiles as you left… this was his joy.

LENNON, Sean Francis - It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Sean Francis Lennon at Juravinski Hospital in Hamilton, Ontario, on Monday April 19th, 2021. He was taken from us far too soon at the age of 36.
Dearest son of Darcy Lennon and Nancy Gorman Lennon and beloved brother to Aleyah-Erin Lennon, Sean also had strong bonds with his many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends as well as a close relationship with his beloved Grandmother, Helen Lennon.
Sean started his career in the hospitality management business, and later in the retail logistics field. He was an avid musician, golfer, and hockey player.

Alzira was born in a little place called Olhalvo, Portugal, on Feb 6 1947. Daughter of Armando Crispim and Rosa Santos and the youngest of three sisters.
Beloved wife of the late Fernando Moreira whom she met in 1970, and married in August 27, 1971. Proud mother of Sonia Moreira and cherished grandmother and great-grandmother.

LAWLIS, James Stephen 'Jim' - It's with deep sorrow that we share the sudden passing of our father, James Stephen Lawlis. Born February 16, 1957, London, Ontario. Died April 19, 2021.
Survived by his two beloved sons, Joel and Lucas, and his former wife and life-long friend Sandra Van Ruymbeke, and her partner John Gibson.
He leaves behind his cherished brothers Larry (Lorrie) Lawlis, Mike (Penny) Lawlis, and John (JoAnne) Lawlis, and his nieces and nephews Kelly, Lisa C, Shawn, Zachary, Mikey, Lisa L., Sammy, Nikki Sunshine, Miranda and Rae.
Jim was predeceased by his steadfast and loving parents Phil and Lorraine Lawlis, his sister and rock Elaine Lawlis, and his little nephew Max.

SAYCE, Simon Nicholas Ben 'Nick' - (1942 - 2021) - Nicholas Sayce, known to his friends as Nick, died on April 19, 2021 after a short illness.
Nick was born in Cheshire in England, the son of Barbara Burrows and Peter Sayce. He went to Shrewsbury, a public school, then studied French literature in Lausanne, though he admitted he spent more time skiing than studying.
On his return to England he worked briefly at Fortnum and Mason then joined the Army for four years. Nick was an officer in the Welsh Guards and served with the British forces in Germany. He maintained a military neatness all his life.
Nick came to Montreal for a temporary job but fell in love with the city and Canada and took his first job in the Investment business with Montreal Trust. Over a 25-year career he worked for several firms, including Nesbitt Thomson and Walywyn. Nick went out on his own and worked in investor relations, with a special interest in Canada’s growing diamond industry.

HARRIS, Charles Alexander - Died peacefully, on April 19, 2021.
He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law David and Kerri-Ann, Robert (Bob) and Patricia (Trish), and Reed and Josée, as well as his grandchildren Emma, Patrick, Meaghan, Geneviève, Danielle, and Nicholas.
Son of Charles and Arline Harris, brother to Arline Hopkins (predeceased), husband for 70 years to Bernice Harris (nee Adam, predeceased), Charlie was born on March 10, 1920.
Charlie began his business career as a reporter for the Toronto Globe and Mail in 1937. In 1941, he enlisted in the RCAF and was commissioned as a pilot a year later, graduating at the top of his class.
After the war, he received a B.A. in Modern History at the University of Toronto.
