A devoted wife and mother, she passed away peacefully at Hill House Hospice in Richmond Hill.
Born and raised in Levack, Ontario, she eventually moved to Richmond Hill where she began her career and lifelong passion of teaching in the York Region Catholic District School Board.

It is with very heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of this beloved husband, father and grandfather on Monday, February 8, 2021, at the age of 86 years after a brave battle with cancer and dementia.
Predeceased in November 2020 by his loving and devoted wife of 64 years, Beatrice who was his best friend and soulmate.
Cherished father of Derek and Mark Behrmann, both of Toronto.
Proud and loving Opa of Thomas, Lukas and Lily Behrmann.
Also survived by his brother, Klaus Behrmann and his wife, Baerbel of Germany.

MACDONNELL, Jo Ann Huidekoper - March 10, 1947 – February 8, 2021
Passed away on Monday, February 8, 2021, after a short battle with cancer.
Jo Ann is survived by her husband Dick, daughter Jen, brother-in-law Phil MacDonnell, nieces Sam Sharp (Brian), Sally Paradine (Simon) and Susie Calder (Andrew, deceased).
She was an amazing great-aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.
She will forever be remembered as a loving wife, devoted mother, and wonderful friend.
Jo Ann loved spending time with family, friends, playing bridge and spending summers at Stony Lake near Peterborough.

Beloved wife of Fred for 51 years and loving mother to Penny Lynn, Lisa Margaret and daughters, Judy Noel and Janet (Rodney) Preston from Margaret's first marriage.
Margaret was one of eleven siblings born to parents, Pearl (nee Parsons) and Edward Penney in Summerside, NL.
Survived by sisters, Ferne (Gordon) Simms and Augusta Fitzgerald and Penney brothers, Eric (Inez), Bryce (Monica) and Bud. Predeceased by sisters, Roxy, Mary, Olga, Mildred and brother, Bill.
She will be greatly missed by her many nieces, nephews, friends and especially the love of her life, grandson, Benjamin.

SHARP, William Morris - August 3, 1937 – February 8, 2021
Surrounded by his wife and 3 kids, Bill passed away peacefully, in the home he loved in Oakville, after a long and mighty fight against CML.
Bill, most fondly called "Sharpie", was born in Montreal, where he met his wife Gail.
They married in '67, and had 3 children before moving to Oakville in '82.
He is survived by his wife Gail, and their kids, Andrew, Pam and Kerri, their spouses and his 4 grandchildren, his two siblings Brian Sharp (Patty) Sally Sharp (Gary Orkney).

Daughter of Elinor and Leonard, fondly remembered by brother Allan, Marlene, Edan and Nikki.
Annie was a longtime TTC employee and amateur radio enthusiast, a hobby she shared with Taras.

MARKHAM, Joan (Dewey) - On Monday February 8, 2021 loving daughter, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Joan Markham, succumbed to her fight with arthritis and life.
Her fight against pain and a poor quality of life was a valiant one but ended Monday afternoon.
She leaves behind family and friends from all around the world that will remember her as a loving, kind and generous person.
Born in London, England on July 5, 1938, Joan later married Frank and moved to Canada where she spent most of her career at Honeywell.

Gordon worked for many years at Zurich Life Insurance until retiring in the 1990's.
Gordon was a sports fanatic and excelled in squash and hockey.

He has now been reunited with his parents Michele and Maria and siblings Lina (infant), Emilio, Beatrice, and Antonio.

PADDLE, Helen Jane (née Hall) - Farmgirl–Scooter Girl–Traveller-Titan-Matriarch
(November 9, 1932 – February 7, 2021) - Our mum left us on Sunday evening. She was at home and surrounded by family, exactly as she had hoped.
Helen was born in Galt, Ontario. She and her sisters Wilma (“Toot”) and Bethie, and brothers Tom and John, were raised on the Hall family homestead in Ayr/Jedburgh, Ontario during the Great Depression.

CARR, David Albert Francis - It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of our father and grandfather on February 7, 2021 from complications arising from heart disease and associated dementia.
David was born in St. John, New Brunswick, on October 23, 1936 to Thomas and Marjorie Carr (nee Kelly) and younger brother to Barbara. The family moved to Thunder Bay, Ontario, where he grew up. David spent most of his adult life in the Toronto area, finally settling in Newmarket in 1980, where the family put down solid roots in the community.
He was predeceased by his wife of 43 years, Sally (2012) and his sister Barbara Brescacin (2017). He will be dearly missed by his three children: Susan (Joe), Jeff (Josette), and Tracy (Todd) and seven grandchildren: Cam and Evan Howieson, Jordan, Jessica and Makayla Rickards; Gabrielle and Lucas Carr.

FOLKES, Gary Stephen - (1938 - 2021) - Gary Stephen Folkes passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 7, 2021 after a short battle with cancer.
He was predeceased by his beloved brother and only sibling, Donald H. Folkes, and his parents Harry & Jenny (Jane Moore) Folkes.
Gary leaves behind his three nieces; Nancy Hillis, Tracy Folkes Hanson (Rob), and Kelly Lashley (Bill), seven great nieces and nephews, and a great, great niece and nephew.

SMITH, Sylvia (nee Robinson) - After a long full life, Sylvia May Smith, nee Robinson, died peacefully on February 7, 2021 at the age of 98.
She was born and raised in Grey County, on top of Blue Mountain, the youngest of 8 children to Colin and Anna Jane Robinson. After completing school, she worked for the war efforts as a Transportation Officer for the Red Cross Corps before moving to Toronto and having a life long career as a Credit Manager.
She was predeceased by her true love Alan, with whom she enjoyed 26 fabulous years of marriage and who shared her love for the theatre, classical music and books.

She was born in Trinidad and Tobago on September 14, 1920 where she lived with her three sons before migrating to United Stated and then Canada.
She was a faithful, devoted Christian and mother. She was known for her calm, peaceful personality and warm smile.

PREIS, Josef - (January 12, 1935 - February 7, 2021) - It is with heavy heart we announce the peaceful passing of Josef Preis in his 86th year, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Josef will be missed dearly by his loving wife Linda of 48 years, his son Josef, his daughter Elizabeth, his daughter-in-law Louise, his son-in-law Roger, his loving grand-children Jenna, Christopher, Katarina, Melanie and Elise, along with extended family and friends.
Josef was born in Homolitz, Yugoslavia in 1935, immigrating to Canada in 1953 making Saskatchewan his first home and later settling in Toronto.

TSILIKAS, Athanasios 'Tom' - Athanasios 'Tom' Tsilikas, age 82, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, February 7th, 2021.
He was born on April 9th, 1938 in Vervena, Greece to George and Yiannoula Tsilikas. He was a loving husband to Antonia for 59 years, and proud father to Joanna and George (Alana).
He will be remembered by his grandkids, Athan and Nikolas; brother, Dimitrios (Margreta) and sister, Stella (George) Petrakis.
Athanasios was predeceased by his by sister Katerina (Paraskevas) Tsoulos.

VALYNKEVYCH, Antonina Michailovna (nee Buraykova) - Antonina Michailovna Valynkevych (nee Buraykova) was born in Kalinen – now Tver – near Moscow on April 23rd, 1928.
Orphaned at a very early age and raised by family members, her childhood was beset with the struggles of World War II and for some of this time she participated in protecting Moscow, working with teams that constructed the miles of protective trench works for the city.
At war’s end, and still in her teen years, she obtained her nursing certificate, then commenced healthcare in Western Ukraine, the city of Stanislav, now called Ivano-Frankovsk. She worked in the various areas of nursing, pediactrics, surgery, as a registered nurse in a military hospital. Later she became a nurse with the country’s National Railroad until her retirement.

BOYKO, Michael - (1925 - 2021) - Passed away peacefully on February 7, 2021.
He will be dearly missed by his wife of nearly 63 years, Wilma. Loving father to Peter (Susan) and Andrew (Kathy). Cherished Grandpa to Ivan, Samantha, Melissa & Natalie.
Predeceased by his sisters Maria and Luba.
Michael (Mike) was a kind and gentle man with a strong work ethic. Born in Ukraine, he came to Canada after the Second World War, first living in Kenora, and later settling in Toronto and working at Continental Can Company (Plant 54) for 36 years until its closure.
