Lewis CharlieLEWIS, Charles Arthur 'Charlie' - (Sunrise March 4, 1918 – Sunset July 11, 201) - “Charlie” was Promoted to Glory after a life well lived.

He was predeceased by his parents, Herbert and Mary Ann, his wife Anne and his brothers Fred and Bert.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Mary, his daughter Barbara, son Doug, stepson Ken, stepdaughter Dianne. There were 13 Grandchildren, 20 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren.

Charlie was a Class A Mechanic who was always willing to help anyone who asked. He served with the 48th Highlanders at “Camp Borden” during the Second World War because a severe injury prevented him from going overseas.

He volunteered as a Sunday School bus driver, picking up the children every week and making an impact on many young lives. He also used his skill as a mechanic to keep the buses in great condition. His pleasant positive attitude was an added bonus.

After retirement he and Mary enjoyed many trips, throughout Canada and Florida and also summers at Jackson’s Point – his favourite place.

Since he never enjoyed wearing a tie – an informal celebration of his life is to take place at The Salvation Army Mississauga Temple, 3173 Cawthra Road, Mississauga, ONtario on Sunday, August 26th, at 2:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Salvation Army Divisional Camp Jackson’s Point c/o The Salvation Army Ontario Central East Divisional Headquarters, 1645 Warden Avenue, Scarborough. Arrangements entrusted with Andrews funeral centre, Bramalea chapel.
