Malone ElizabethMALONE, Elizabeth 'Betty, Barnett (nee CURRIE)  - Betty passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 4, 2018 with her family by her side.

She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years Alfred (Fred).

Loving mother of Chris, Perry (Linda) and Ken (Trae).

Proud and attentive grandmother of Laura (Kris), Kevin (Dana), Mhairi (Kazuto), Zachary, Zoe, Cabot and Fletcher.

She was preceded by her mother Maud and her three sisters Maudie, Isabel and Ellen.

Betty will be best remembered by her kind heart, her devotion to her family, her sense of humour and her contagious laugh.

Born in Scotland on December 24, 1938 she was rich with Highlander energy and fortitude - her sage advice of 'one day at a time' will continue to ring through our ears long after her passing. As a young girl, Betty was very active in sports including baseball and track and field. She continued that tradition by passing her enthusiasm for sports down to her boys (and spending many, many early mornings at the hockey rink!).

Betty was always the first to volunteer to help and whether it was her boys' various sports leagues or her own lawn bowling league, her talent for organization shone.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. Both the visitation and service will take place at G.H. Hogle Funeral Home, Etobicoke, ON.

For those who wish, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.

The family would like to thank the staff at Toronto Western Hospital for their tireless efforts of care and support.
