Martin BrunoMARTIN, Bruno Martin - At age 87, passed away after battling an illness on Sunday, August 5, 2018 in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada.

Bruno was born in Chions, in the province of Pordenone, a small rural community in northeastern Italy on February 21, 1931 at the dawn of the Great Depression into a large family.

Immigrating to Canada in 1954, Bruno found work as a carpenter but fulfilled his true destiny when he married his beloved Gina in 1966. They had 2 children.

Bruno enjoyed making salami, wine, and grappa; he enjoyed his fine food - especially his cheese - telling a story, and having a good laugh in the company of family and friends. Bruno held a special affinity for the outdoors and especially his garden; famously rich with delicious tomatoes, spinach and cucumbers which he generously shared with everyone. In fact, he was always quick to offer his help to anyone who was in need.

Retirement brought an opportunity to travel which included stops in London, the United States and Italy.

In his later years, Bruno’s energies were directed to looking after his beloved wife Gina while she battled her illness, showering her with love and devotion that helped make her final years easier. He never forgot his wife and visited her very frequently, taking her picture with him everywhere he went. Now they are reunited. He leaves his daughter Licia (husband Colin), son Andy, and granddaughter Sacha.

Visitation will be held at Highland Funeral Home, Scarborough on August 9th from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM. The funeral mass will take place at St. Joseph's Catholic Church - Highland Creek, 200 Morrish Road, Toronto. Entombment at Toronto. A reception will follow at Remezzo Italian Bistro,3335 Sheppard Avenue East, Toronto.

Memorial donations can be made in lieu of flowers to Helping Hands.
