Ward HeatherWARD, Heather Jane - (February 12, 1975August 5, 2018) -

With great sadness Linda and Fred Ward announce the passing of our daughter Heather on Sunday, August 5, 2018.

After a long struggle with addiction, Heather Jane Ward passed away peacefully and comfortably at St Michael's Hospital.

Heather was born February 12, 1975 at York Central Hospital. She attended Country Day School, Pickering College and Bishop’s College School.

She graduated from the University of New Brunswick with a dual degree in Computer Science and Philosophy. Heather built a successful career as a Computer Systems Analyst.

Heather loved snowboarding, skiing, music, dogs and had a special connection with horses.

She spent many summers as the groom for the Toronto Polo Club; Heather easily managed putting a dozen polo ponies into a van and driving to a match.

Many personal and professional individuals tried to help Heather with her struggle over the years.

Heather will be truly missed by parents, Linda and Fred Ward, her sister Jennifer Rightmyer (husband Mike), her niece and nephew Hanna and Jack and many other family members and friends whose heart she touched.

As Hanna (7) said, “ Heather is now with our Heaven Family."

A Celebration of Heather's Life will be held on Thursday, September 20th at 1 p.m. at Richmond Hill United Church, 10201 Yonge Street, Richmond Hill, ON, L4C3B2.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Raymond James Canada Foundation, in support of The Ward Family Charitable Foundation and will be directed toward assisting homeless and displaced women and girls: https://rjcfoundation.akaraisin.com/wardfamily.  Arrangements entrusted with Thompson funeral home, Aurora.
