GIVELAS, Luba   - August 21, 1923 – August 7, 2018

Peacefully, at Ina Grafton Gage Home on August 7, 2018, in her 95th year.

Beloved wife of 64 years to Andy Givelas (predeceased).

Loving mother to Laurie (Tony) Creber and Robert Blazo.

Cherished Baba (grandmother) of Erin, Kendal and Kayleigh.

Dear aunt to beloved nieces Sandra (Peter) Wirun and Elaine (Zeke) Goldy.

Predeceased by her beloved older sister Victoria (Shamanduroff) and leaving her best friend and confidant of over 90 years, Violet (Golubov).

Luba was a wonderful mother and caring grandmother. She was a kind, gentle woman, who excelled at dressmaking, sewing and needle crafts; loved to dance horas in her high heels; and was an avid reader and crossword puzzler.

Luba had a broad knowledge of current affairs, loved to go downtown to window shop and will be remembered for her sharp mind and facility with calculations and words.

Laurie and Rob would like to thank her nieces Sandra and Elaine for their devotion to mom especially during the last couple of years; her extended family of nieces and nephews; Linda; the dedicated staff at IGGH Level 3; and Luba's longtime family physician Dr. Manbun Kwan.

A visitation will be held at York Funeral Centre, North York, on Saturday, August 11th from 5-8 p.m. Funeral service on Sunday, August 12th at 2 p.m.

Donations may be made to Ina Grafton Gage Home or to North York General Hospital Foundation.
