Succamore TomSUCCAMORE, Thomas John - It is with profound sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Thomas John Succamore in his 89th year on August 10, 2018 at Markham Stouffville Hospital with his loving family by his side.

Beloved and devoted husband of the late Elsie for 60 years.

Adored and loving father of David (Yvette) and Darlene (Kevan).

Cherished and very special grandfather (Bampi) of Madison and Brecyn.

Dear brother of David (Jess) and Grace Succamore, Surrey, British Columbia; Brother-in-law of Irene Robinson, Chorley, Lancashire.

Respected uncle of Carl, Carolyn, Sandra, Tracy and their families.

Fondly remembered by extended family in England, Wales, and Scotland.

We were gifted with “Tommy’s” boundless generosity, his humour and his unmatched quick wit. He was a man of many talents and qualities which included leadership and was a force to be reckoned with.

Tom was a Past Master of St. George Masonic Lodge No. 367 and was a member for 58 years. He proudly served in the British Army as a Royal Engineer in the Middle East and later in life was a staunch supporter of the military.

He was a much respected figure in the commercial construction industry working for E.S. Martin Construction, Loblaw Construction, Milne & Nichol and Richard & B.A. Ryan. He built shopping plazas, grocery stores, schools, churches, factories, warehouses and offices. Some highlights of his career included the entire Royal York Hotel renovation, the flagship Loblaw store in Hoggs Hollow, Litton Systems, The Super Centres, Glen Abbey Clubhouse, The Sisters of St. Joseph of Toronto and US Air Force accommodations. His work took him all over Ontario, into Labrador and Denver, Colorado.

Away from work, he enjoyed watching his kids play sports which got him involved in hockey and lacrosse. Tom was a driving force within the lacrosse community for over 40 years, including Executive and President of Rexdale Warriors and President and Operator of the Etobicoke Eclipse Junior “A” Club. Tom played a pivotal role in the development of the Ontario Lacrosse Hall of Fame & Museum and “The Sticks for The Troops” program in Afghanistan. Inductee of both Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame and the Ontario Lacrosse Hall of Fame, where he served as President. Tom was also a great contributor to minor hockey with the Royal York Rangers and the Young Nats and loved his annual trips to the Quebec PeeWee International Tournament.

Special thank you to Dr. Monica Mai and her palliative staff for their care and comfort to Tom in his last days.

Resting at Newediuk Funeral Home, Toronto on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m., and Wednesday, August 15, 2018 from 6-9 pm. A Masonic Service will be held on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Service will be celebrated at St. Philip’s Anglican Church, 31 St. Phillips Road, Toronto on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at 10 a.m.
