SKOPEK, Halina Skopek - Passed away peacefully on August 13th, 2018 at the age of 72, loved by her children, grandchildren and extended family.
She was born in Koźle, Poland on July 22, 1946 as the youngest of five siblings - youngest but one of the strongest.
As a single mother she fled communist Poland with her children and arrived in Canada in 1982.
In Canada she married her husband Wolfgang Skopek who became a father to her children.
They lived together on Dove Hawkway for many pleasant years, seeing her children Adam and Jagoda-Barbara grow to exhibit her own resilience and leadership.
We remember her selflessness, especially the kindness and charity she gave her community in Poland. Through this she made many lifelong friends who will forever remember her generosity. Rest in peace Halina, your sharp wit, poise and elegance will never be forgotten. We love you eternally. Hugs and kisses xoxo.
Visitation will be held at York Cemetery & Funeral Centre, Toronto, on Thursday, August 16th, from 4:30 to 8:30pm. Funeral service there on Friday, August 17th, from 2 to 3pm. Interment to follow from 3:15pm to 3:45 pm. Reception to follow, to 5:45pm.
