Ivačko, Marcia (nee Štrucelj) - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marica Ivačko.
Marica Ivačko (nee Štrucelj) was born on July 29, 1926 in Goršćaki, Ozalj, and moved to Toronto, Ontario in 1964 with her husband and two daughters.
Known for her voice, both musically and through sheer strength of will, cheeky poetry, and travel, Marica adored visiting Hrvatska, Mexico, and Cuba and sharing memories at Mandarin and Imperial Garden Buffet - her favorites. She took great joy in celebrating many milestones, her thinly veiled justification to enjoy watching her family gather for laughter, food, and drinks. It is here where she spent her ninety second birthday and sixty ninth wedding anniversary; among her dear family by whom she was loved.
Marica is survived by her husband Vid Ivačko, her two daughters Mira Borošič and Dragica Štefanac, five grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
Her family will remember Marica as a generous and loving grandmother, an opinionated and honest mother and wife, and as a strong woman who fought to enjoy living life until her last moments.
She passed quietly on Wednesday August 15, 2018 surrounded by her family.
Marica will be forever lovingly remembered.
Visitation will be held at Turner & Porter - Peel Chapel, 2180 Hurontario, Mississauga, On, on Sunday August 19th from 2pm to 4pm and from 6pm to 9pm. Funeral Mass at the Church of the Croatian Martyrs, 4605 Mississauga Rd., Mississauga, ON, on Monday August 20th, at 9:30 am. Interment at Assumption Catholic Cemetery, Mississauga.
