Menard MargaretMENARD, Margaret 'Joy' - (August 15, 1928August 15, 2018) -

Margaret Joy Menard, known as Joy, passed away peacefully at Scarborough Centenary Hospital on August 15th, 2018 on her 90th birthday.

She was born on August 15th, 1928 to Ada Ruth Lethbridge and Hector Guy Deacon.

She rejoins her beloved husband of 32 years, Colin Menard; her parents; and her brothers Peter and Michael Deacon, in eternity.

Joy will be deeply missed by her children Lynda Julia Menard (Glen McConnachie), Melanie-Jo Golding (Al), and Richmond Stuart Menard (Nanda); brother Bruce Deacon; nephews Glen and Gary Deacon; grandchildren Neil Kiberd (Lisa), Meagan Golding Stoddard (Zach), Kyle Golding (Shannon), Brendan Golding and Laura Collins- Hill (Elijah Hill). She also leaves behind her great-grandchildren Rhylee and Anya Lee Kiberd.

Joy was the backbone of our family; she was the one who made it all happen. Savvy and vivacious by nature, her kindness, words of wisdom, and her strength, all made her an inspiration to us, and a person to whom we owe so much.

Joy and her husband Colin were an inseparable and passionate pair, doing absolutely everything together, from the moment they met to the moment Colin passed before her. Joy felt his absence deeply, their home feeling too big for one person. So, she ventured out to fill her time with experiences, travelling all over the world, in between enjoying her beautiful home and working hard running her businesses.

The family would like to thank Joy's caregiver Vidya Budhram for her love and dedication, as well as all the VHA PSW’s who were so dedicated and caring.

May you rest in peace Mom. We will always love and miss you so.
