EDWARDS, Dr. Hollis Alexander Edwards - Passed away on Friday, September 7, 2018 at his home after a long illness at the age of 84.
Born in Delaford, Trinidad & Tobago, to Eugenia and Adam he came to Canada in 1957 to pursue a career in medicine.
He was the beloved husband of Theresa Morris for 25 years and step father to Brandt Morris. In an earlier marriage to Gayle Farden they raised two sons Myles and Jason Edwards. He had 6 grandchildren.
He studied psychiatry at McGill and was a staff psychiatrist at Toronto East General Hospital when he founded the Toronto Family Therapy Institute on Bayview Ave. He also maintained a private practice focused on family therapy in the Yonge/Eglinton area.
Visitation will be held at the Highland Funeral Home, Scarborough on Wednesday, September 12th from 5 – 9 p.m.
The Celebration of his Life will be held at St. Matthew the Apostle Oriole Anglican Church on Thursday, September 13th at 11am. (Visitation at the church from one hour prior).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CAMH in memory of Dr. Hollis Edwards.
