Dignard AlfredDIGNARD, Alfred - With heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Alfred Dignard at Villa Colombo Vaughan on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at the age of 99.

Alfred is now reunited with his late wife Mildred whom he dearly missed for the past 25 years.

Beloved father to Sharon (the late Ernesto), Linda (Harry), Wayne (Lydia), Kathy (Vince), Connie (Jim) and Dianne.

Cherished by his 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Alfred was a dedicated and caring family man.  He was a modest and humble veteran of World War II during which he gave his time to orphaned children and injured soldiers.  In later life he became a proud member of the Knights of Columbus.

When not giving to others he enjoyed quiet moments fishing, camping and hunting. Known as a 'jack of all trades' his kind and giving nature will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by many.

The family wishes to extend special appreciation to Dr. Klar and the staff at Villa Colombo Vaughan for their compassionate and dedicated care.

Friends and family will be received at Ward funeral home (4671 Highway #7, Woodbridge) on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-9 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church (8500 Islington Avenue) on Wednesday, September 19th at 9:30 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Anne’s Cemetery in Penetanguishene.
